3D Printing Service: from Weingarten near Ravensburg

If you know me, you know: My two Bambu Lab X1 Carbon printers are basically always running. Sometimes they print new Gridfinity boxes for the workshop, sometimes a voxel alligator, sometimes some completely absurd spare part that you can't buy anywhere. And more and more often I get asked: "Hey Thomas, can you do that for me too?"

The short answer: Yes. The longer answer: Read on.

What I offer

For a while now, I've been publishing my 3D designs on MakerWorld as @bastelsaal. From complex workshop organization systems like Frenchfinity to Gridfinity collections to small everyday helpers and decorative objects. I mainly work with FreeCAD and OpenSCAD, and I enjoy projects that really make you think.

What I can do for you essentially comes down to two things:

3D Design

You have an idea, a broken part, a sketch on a napkin? I'll model it for you. Spare parts, brackets, adapters, custom enclosures, tool holders for a very specific combination screw that only exists at your grandpa's place. No problem at all. I deliver the print files (STL/3MF), you can print them yourself or hand me the next step directly.

3D Printing

You already have a file but need someone with a proper printer and the necessary experience to make sure the result actually fits? I'll print for you. Various materials (PLA, PETG, TPU), multicolor printing with AMS. No problem.

Frenchfinity: My biggest open source project

One of my most extensive projects is Frenchfinity. A modular, 3D-printable system for tool organization on French cleats. The problem: there are no standardized holders for French cleats. Everyone cobbles something together, and nothing really fits. Frenchfinity solves this with parametric FreeCAD designs that can be adapted to your tools. Over 40 different holders for pliers, wrenches, tablet mounts and battery adapters are already available. And if you need something special, you can create your own designs using the included template.

Who is this for?

Craftspeople and DIY enthusiasts who need a spare part that's no longer available or would be too expensive to order. Makers and tinkerers from the region who don't have the means to run their own printer. Small businesses that need prototypes, fixtures, or custom parts in small quantities. Parents who just want to give their kid a cool, personalized thing.

And of course anyone who simply has a quirky idea and wants to see if it can somehow be made out of plastic. I always have an open ear for that kind of request.

Who do I print for?

  • Craftspeople and DIY enthusiasts
  • Makers and tinkerers
  • Small businesses
  • Parents
  • Anyone with a quirky idea

How does it work?

Send me an email or contact me through the usual channels. Describe what you need. The more details, the better. Photos, sketches, measurements, links to similar things on the internet: all welcome. We'll figure out together what's feasible, what it costs, and how long it takes. For simple prints without design effort, it often goes surprisingly fast.

I'm not an industrial print service with warehousing and overnight shipping, but a person from the region who enjoys what he does. That has advantages: I think along with you, I explain things, and if an idea won't work as planned, I'll tell you that too.

Where am I?

I'm based in Weingarten, practically next door for everyone from the Ravensburg, Weingarten, Friedrichshafen, and Schussental area. Personal handover is no problem, shipping works too.
